Sometimes the signs of narcissism don’t become truly apparent until after the I Dos.
It’s not that there are no red flags that signal narcissism during dating, it’s that many of the tell-tale traits of narcissism become more pronounced after getting hitched. “With marriage—and parenthood—there’s more interdependence, more demands,” says Ramani Durvasula, Ph.D., author of Should I Stay or Should I Go: How to Survive a Relationship with a Narcissist. “And that often doesn’t play well with an egocentric narcissist.”
Narcissists know how to twist and turn reality to suit their own needs. They love to bomb their wives after every abuse encounter and convince them they are abusers. It can be challenging for wives to pinpoint what they are precisely experiencing even during the abuse.
