 Number 1: Passive aggression.

 Passive aggression is every covert narcissist’s go-to in showing their sense of entitlement or narcissism. It could be expressed in silent treatments. The mockery is veiled as jokes or showing dislike for tasks assigned to them through procrastination.

 Just like any other narcissist, covert narcissists fear confrontations. Hence, they are subtle in taking advantage of others and getting their wants. Passive aggression is just the easiest way to do so because passive aggression can make narcissists feel heard or gain a sense of control while avoiding directness and obscuring any aggressive intent at the same time.

 Number 2: Hold grudges.

 Covert narcissists tend to accumulate revenge feelings to appear reasonable when they express their demands to the other person who maltreated them. When somebody mistreats a covert narcissist, they may say nothing at the moment, but such unfair treatment had become a core memory before ever remembered and would even increase as time goes by.

 Covert narcissists have a long list of people who maltreated them and how they were mistreated by such people. They held grudges because they shelved the negative feelings of unfair treatment to increase so they could execute their revenge at a perfect time. Holding grudges is every covert narcissist’s way to inflict guilt without explaining themselves because their long list of remember whens will do the explaining for them.
