So once the Narcissist has their target audience, the first thing they will do when you go no contact is:
1. Continue the smear campaign.
Because if they can convince those last few who may have been in support of you to turn against you, they will. This includes people who may not have even known about the drama that unraveled between both of you, will hear the Narcissist’s version which will be filled with lies to portray you as the perpetrator and them as the victim.
And because the Narcissist is persistent in ruining you and getting everyone to abandon you, they are happy to reenact their delusions of being the victim and cry the crocodile tears for the necessary impact. So even though you have gone No Contact, the Narcissist will never release you and will continue to try and turn others against you in your absence. Hoping that one of the latest losses will provoke you to break No Contact to save your name and reputation.
This is why, as difficult as it can be the best you can do for yourself is ignore the Narcissist’s smear campaign, and be prepared to lose more friends and family as time goes by. Because as I explained in this article; unfortunately, the smear campaign will never end as narcissists are vengeful and unforgiving creatures.
