3. If blaming the person who supplied the evidence did not work, and the narcissist is losing the battle to shift blame and responsibility onto someone else, do not be surprised if they blame and accuse even the most loyal flying monkeys.
This could be a spouse, this could be a child, this could be someone they have partnered with within a business for years and years. Just because someone has stood by the narcissist side come hell or high water does not under any circumstances mean that the narcissist is going to return the favor with his or her loyalty and honesty.
Narcissists have zero problems throwing the most loyal people under the bus if it means the narcissist escapes any accountability. Remember, narcissists, are loyal to one person and one person only, themselves.
4. If they go down, they are going to take everyone down with them. Meaning, if they cannot escape accountability, they will then attempt to make anyone associated with them equally responsible. We see this a lot in trying to divorce a narcissist, or when you are god forbid in a custody battle with one.
If the narcissist is unable to get the court and others to believe the smear campaign against the ex-spouse relieving them of any accountability, then they will try and get the court and others to believe that both parties are equally responsible for what has happened, when nothing could be further from the truth. There is one person responsible for what has happened and that’s the narcissist.
