2. Words are cheap, and actions will tell you everything you need to know.
The second lesson you need to learn from your relationship with a narcissist is that words are cheap and actions will tell you everything you need to know. Actions speak louder than words always. If a person’s words and actions do not align, then this is a person with who you do not want to have anything to do with.
So the lesson is you will watch a person’s actions, their behavior, and base your judgments about people based on their actions and their behavior. Never ever in their words. And when and if you discover a person’s words and actions do not align, you cut your losses immediately, and you distance yourself from that person.
No longer are we willing to accept lame excuses, gaslighting, or just bald-faced lies as an alternative to what a person’s behavior is telling us.
3. If it feels and seems too good to be true, it is.
The third lesson that you must learn from your relationship with a narcissist is if it feels and seems too good to be true, it is. Remember narcissists all do something called love bombing and mirroring in the beginning to a target that they’re interested in getting involved with you. You have to understand that if you meet someone and all of a sudden they make you feel like you have met your soul mate, this person is very likely a con job.
When things seem too good to be true, they are. This is a critically important lesson that you must learn from having a relationship with a narcissist.
