A third reason narcissists cheat and have affairs is that they are very susceptible to boredom. Think about how short their attention span is. They tend to need continual excitement. They are constantly fighting off boredom. And what a better way to kill feeling bored than with a sexual conquest or a full-on affair. Then they’re getting narcissistic supply from you and from the other person. This feeds their ego big time. They gain narcissistic supply just from thinking about the triangulation between their current partner and this other person.
