6. Keeping your cool.
There just isn’t enough drama for them, is there? Narcissists chase a spotlight like tom chases jerry. They will do absolutely anything to be noticed. Though they prefer positive attention such as admiration from others, they are not above getting negative attention as well. To do this, they create drama and provoke people to cause a scene where they can star in.
As an empath, you do your best to keep the peace. Hating negative emotional conflicts causes you to go out of your way to make sure everyone is fine. Narcissists are the total opposite. Since their goal is to get a reaction from you, simply refrain from giving them one. Stay composed and count to ten whenever they do something to provoke you. Keep your calm and breathe. By not reacting to what they say or do, you show them that they have no power over you.
5. Following rules.
Why do they hate people in authority? In the workplace or at school, you may have noticed that narcissists seem to always run into issues with other people. This is because their self-centered nature inhibits them from working well and relating to others. Empaths relate to people as well and therefore understand that rules are important to keep the peace and harmony in a place.
Narcissists hate authoritative figures because they do not like being subject to anyone. Having someone else making decisions and calling the shots makes them feel uncomfortable and not in control. If you do not share the same views about authority as they have and continue to respect and follow rules, you are sure to anger the narcissist.
