5. Inappropriate behaviors and reactions.
Going to a funeral as if it’s a social gathering or taking selfies while there would be inappropriate reactions and responses. This trait is common as not everybody possesses the skills needed for quality interactions on the social level.
People that have BPD must learn the skill to achieve fulfilling relationships. Not everyone understands, so they will see this behavior and distance themselves from it instead of educating themselves about it. They seem rude when they talk and don’t intend to be, but this is one reason why they cannot maintain any stable relationship.
This inappropriate behavior will outweigh a rational thinker’s ability to handle this because of the embarrassment and stigma that comes with it. BPD is a complex disorder and requires education and understanding, and not everyone possesses that ability.
6. Sexual overdrive and repulsion.
BPD creates a mindset that excessive sexual activity appears normal to them as their sexual behavior becomes concerning and often destructive. This tendency does not maintain an extreme nature but will then move to sexual repulsion to the individual and not allowing anyone to touch them.
According to the National Library of Medicine: “those with borderline personality disorder are more likely to exhibit greater sexual preoccupation, have earlier sexual exposure, engage in casual sexual relationships, report a greater number of different sexual partners, as well as promiscuity and engage in homosexual experiences.”
Sexualized behavior is often a coping mechanism for mental health, but utilizing proper techniques will improve undesirable behavior. While this is a complex subject to approach, it is essential to understand appropriate mental health stabilization.
