 3. Obsessive behaviors.

We all possess our form of obsessive behavior, but when that affects daily living and the ability to function in society. When a person becomes obsessed with an item and feels the need to have every similar thing, that is obsessive behavior.

Our world is full of things that people collect, such as an individual that collects elephants because they are known for good luck. Collecting is not the problem, the problem begins when an individual goes overboard to the point that they cannot view an object such as an elephant without buying it.

This behavior becomes obsessive when they cover their home with elephants, regardless of space. A person with a BPD cannot function their moderation quality, which will then affect rational thinking and create behaviors that go deeper to achieve that feeling of good luck through elephants.

 4. No boundaries in relationships.

A person with BPD needs to have a personal relationship that encompasses their lives and the other persons with no boundaries. This relationship could be romantic or just a friendship, but they must always have somebody to fulfill their longing for acceptance.

This relationship will dictate how they feel about themselves down to what type of day they will have because they have to feel accepted all the time. It will not last, and somebody who has BPD jumps from relationship to relationship to achieve happiness.

Their friendships won’t last, and neither will their romantic involvements, but they will continue searching to have someone always there due to fear of being alone. Their behaviors and needs for constant attention, and their inability to honor boundaries will cause those relationships to end.
