And this is why if the narcissist is ever presented with an opportunity where they can hurt you, they will jump on it, and it’s because the narcissist doesn’t ever forgive or forget. Going no contact to the point where the problematic narcissist doesn’t even know where you are is the only way to get them to leave you alone. Because unless the narcissist has important contacts who can track you, the narcissist will not spend money or time searching for you.
A psychopath would, but not a narcissist, and this is why it angers them when one gets away. But don’t think for one moment that going no contact for a few months or a few years will ever be enough. When you come back, the narcissist will be looking to pick up where you left off. They may act as if all is forgiven or forgotten but that is far from the truth. They do this to get you to lower your guard so that they can strike when you least expect it and even more so do it in a way where you would never think it was them who orchestrated it.
When you are out of the narcissist site, it doesn’t mean that you are out of their mind. They do remember you ever so often, and they play over in their minds how they think you’ve wronged them and they fantasize about meeting up with you again and how they would make you pay.
