Narcissists Also Suffer From Depression.
They are never satisfied with what they have, so they become depressed very easily and are always in search of that new thing that will excite and distract them. They are on a constant merry-go-round of cosmetic highs and lows. So when I say they are not happy people, they are not. They try many vices like drugs, sex, and alcohol to help them escape this reality, but it always comes back and hits them in the face.
They know something is wrong with them, they know they are lacking, and they know their smile is not genuine. And they know all their accomplishments are of no true value as they are still tormented and broken inside.
Not everything that shimmers is gold, and so is the life of a narcissist. No matter how marvelous a picture they paint of themselves, or their accomplishments, or their possessions; behind all that is someone who is sad, fearful, tormented, and paranoid. Someone who would desperately love to trade places but can’t.
Basically, at the end of the day, it actually sucks being a narcissist. Just think of it like this, you should be glad you are not a narcissist because, for them, life is a hundred times more difficult. There is that darkness inside them that is sucking the life out of them and reminding them that they are worthless and that no one really cares for or loves them.

Also, that they will never be good enough; that’s why the value in other people comes naturally to them. They have lived with it forever. This is why the lies they tell are necessary, and this is why they seek validation continually. The delusional mindset of thinking themselves bigger and better is a necessity. It helps with their sanity.
