These are narcissists that think they are intellectual genius. They gain their narcissistic supply from their superior intellectual abilities, whether real or perceived. They will be the ones throwing around words and language that prove that they’re smarter than other people. Or they will make sure that everyone knows where they graduated from college and all the accolades that they achieved.
They show their superiority by trying to be the smartest, most well-read, most intellectual person in the room. They will not want anyone to perceive them as anything short of brilliant. And they will downplay other people’s intellectual abilities as beneath them.
