In today’s topic, we are going to dive into the behaviors of the female covert narcissist. It is amazing how many of my coaching clients are dealing with this kind of woman. Plus, nearly all of the female narcissists that I have personally known have been covert. car insurance quotes
So today, I’m going to try and shine some light on the female covert narcissist and some of the behaviors they will, typically, exhibit.
So I’d like to always start out with a reminder of the formula you need to use on how to identify someone with high traits of narcissism. You’re looking for the three e’s:
- 1. lack empathy.
- 2. feels entitled.
- 3. exploitative. Meaning takes advantage of other people.
The problem is when you’re dealing with a covert narcissist, specifically the female covert narcissist, she portrays herself as a genuinely good-hearted, compassionate, many times deeply virtuous person. So, unfortunately, the coverts are much more difficult to discover than an overt narcissist. Who really doesn’t hide their entitlement in their lack of empathy over its being out in the open with their behaviors. And usually, really don’t give a damn who sees these behaviors.
Coverts keep their true character hidden. They are incredibly passive-aggressive and very sneaky with their abuse tactics. And because of that, they are much more difficult to detect. Difficult but certainly not impossible if you know what to be watching out for. car insurance quotes
So let’s talk about some of the telltale behaviors and traits of the female covert narcissist.
First of all, they are not different than any other narcissist in their feelings and belief that they are special and superior. And they like all narcissists are always searching for continual outlets of narcissistic supply. However, covert narcissists are also referred to as the shy narcissist.
So they won’t be out in the in-your-face bragging about how wonderful and special they are for everyone to hear. They go about gaining their narcissistic supply very differently than an overt female narcissist. car insurance quotes
