3. Attention
They like to know that their presence is not only felt but seen. Narcissists love to be the center of attention. Whatever their prime attributes are, they want to be known for that. So if it’s their book smarts, their looks, whatever is their strength, they will use it to draw attention to themselves.
Most narcissists also want to be desired sexually as well, so we’ll welcome that kind of attention, and it’s one of the reasons why they love to flirt. Engaging in in sexual activities gives the narcissist a level of attention that surpasses all the others as it makes them feel desired and wanted. But this is why many of them become addicted to sex and also cheat on their partners.
Attention makes a narcissist feel significant and happy, and then getting all eyes on them, leads us into the fourth thing which is praise.
