Number 3: Superiority Complex.
Narcissists have a significant case of a superiority complex. They believe that they are far from everyone else, like a noble person who just dines with other nobles alike. Are you familiar with a caste system? It is a social class system from the 1500s where people’s access to opportunities will depend on the family they were born into. To understand the narcissist’s take when socializing with other people, you should consider how the caste system works. Narcissists are like the caste system. They differentiate all kinds of people and separate them into groups of the highest from those that are the lowest. That way, narcissists will know who to befriend and who to devour.
A superiority complex also refers to a superior attitude that conceals actual feelings of inferiority and failure. As a result, people mistakenly believe that someone with constant narcissistic tendencies has high self-esteem when they do not. They might appear to do so because of that. Narcissists hold on for their dear life when undermining someone, for that is their only way to express what they truly feel towards themselves. Their arrogance might be a coping mechanism to protect them from feeling vulnerable and weak.

Number 4: Envies Others or Believes Others Are Envious of Them.
Narcissists are jealous people. They do not want to be the ones left behind in the group. If someone has a new motorcycle, narcissists must have one too, but nicer and cooler than the motorcycle of the person who bought one. Even if there’s no competition, narcissists like to pick a fight with people who they think are their competitors, and most of these competitors are unaware of this one-sided battle of narcissists with them.
Now, after narcissists are satisfied with the way they have exceeded and defeated their competitors, they would assume that these competitors are envious of what they got. When in reality, narcissists are the only ones who got burdened by this one-sided competition. Narcissists’ high sense of importance may also influence their way of thinking, instilling in their minds that other people envy them. But the reality is too scary for narcissists to face the truth that they often deny. It is the reality where they can see themselves filled with jealousy and insecurity toward other people’s lives and that their life alone isn’t enough for them to survive.
