1. Disturbance
Narcissists are very controlling. They need to direct the course of events. They have a fixed way in which things are supposed to pan out, so they cannot tolerate any disturbance or problems that interrupt their event activity or process. Everything has to be about them. They have to get their pleasure and gratification. Everything has to go along with their agenda because they cannot accept any difference of opinion.
Narcissists cannot let you do your own thing. If they need you at a specific time, you have to be there, you have to be ready whenever they need you, and you have to agree with everything they say. If you don’t, they’re not going to take the time to understand your feelings or needs, they’re just going to see it as an inconvenience- they’re just going to see it as a disturbance or problem.
If you think differently to the narcissist, they don’t see it as though you’re just a separate person with your own ideas and opinions, they see it as an inconvenience because they expect you to think just like them, and because they don’t want you to have your own separate thoughts that are outside of their control because that gets in the way of them getting what they want, and all they care about is getting their needs met, regardless of any inconvenience that it may cause to you.
You can be an inconvenience to them, but they don’t see it as though they could be an inconvenience to you. In their minds, you’re just their subordinates, you’re beneath them. So you just have to put up with it.
