10 Weird Addictions All Narcissists Have

7. Addiction to Copying Others.

Some narcissists become strangely addicted to copying the lives of others they admire or envy. They may copy someone’s fashion, hobbies, way of talking, or even their career.

This behavior can be creepy and confusing. But narcissists often have no strong sense of self. They don’t know who they are inside, so they copy others in hopes of becoming someone others admire.

It gives them a temporary sense of identity and power—like they are special or better than the person they are copying.

8. Addiction to False Success.

Narcissists want others to believe they are more successful than they really are. This leads to an addiction to fake success. They may lie about their job, income, or education. They might rent expensive things just to show off, or post photos that make it look like they are wealthy.

They measure their worth by how others see them, not by who they really are. This addiction can lead to overspending, debt, and a life built on lies.

Behind the fake success is often a person who feels very insecure and afraid of being seen as ordinary.

9. Addiction to Being the Center of Every Conversation.

Narcissists love to talk about themselves. They often steer every conversation back to their own experiences, problems, or achievements.

Even if someone else is going through something serious, the narcissist will find a way to make it about them. For example, if you say, “I’m having a tough day,” they might respond, “You think your day is bad? Let me tell you what happened to me.”

This addiction keeps the spotlight on them and feeds their ego. Over time, people may feel ignored, unseen, or unimportant around the narcissist.
