8. Feelings of shame and guilt.
After the experience of narcissistic abuse, how frequently do you feel ashamed or sad? Do you also have guilt feeling about leaving? These are also other symptoms of CPTSD because of the experience you had with your previous relationship. It’s not surprising for you to get sad or even depressed. You’ll feel the heavy burden that is weighing on your shoulders, and at the same time, you will always feel anxious about every action you take.
You may feel isolated from others because of your feelings of guilt or shame. How often are you feeling depressed lately? Are you still in the process of healing? We hope that you will get over it soon so that you can have a great life ahead of you. 7. Loss of system meanings.
Your religion or worldview are referred to as systems of meaning. You might lose trust in long-held beliefs or develop a deep sense of despair or hopelessness about the world. For example, it’s important to remember that symptoms of both PTSD and CPTSD can differ significantly from person to person, and even over time. For example, you can find yourself avoiding social gatherings for a while before returning months or years later to look for potentially dangerous situations.
It’s also important to remember that if you’re close to someone with CPTSD, their thoughts and beliefs don’t necessarily correspond to their feelings. They may be aware that they should rationally avoid their abuser. Nonetheless, they may harbor feelings of affection for them. If you can help someone who suffers from CPTSD, please do not hesitate because we can never imagine a person going through so much pain in life.
