Narcissists need your attention more than you could ever imagine, they can’t stand the thought of you focusing on anything or anyone else.
When you give them that attention, it feeds their ego and makes them feel good about themselves. But when you don’t provide them with that attention, it makes them feel like garbage, like nothing matters, insignificant and worthless. That’s why narcissists often manipulate others into giving them the attention they need, by causing drama and throwing tantrums. They’ll do whatever it takes to get your attention back to them again, even if it means hurting you.
